It’s official: wedding season is here and there’s nothing I enjoy more than a huge party with close friends and family, amazing food, hilarious speeches and wacky photo booths…all in the name of love. What isn’t so easy is finding something to wear to ever last fête. At least here in Hawaii, you run into many of the same people at each wedding, so a repeat dress during the same season just isn’t an option. Second, no black! I’m not sure if this is only bad luck in certain cultures, but I know that in Chinese culture it’s not ideal, so my favorite color is out the window. Next, stiletto heels are a no-g0 when it comes to grassy and beachy locations, which is almost all weddings around here. Lastly, you’re dealing with nearly 90-degree weather, so you need to be strategic — think light colors in breathable fabrics. And don’t forget to throw some sunglasses in your clutch unless you want to be blinded by the sun all ceremony long (been there, done that, DO NOT recommend it). When all is said and done, I present to you the perfect Hawaii wedding outfit — a light and airy maxi dress with chunky block heels, simple nude clutch and sunnies. Voila!
