I used to think that for me, having clear skin would require some kind of miracle. Here’s a little about my skincare backstory: I always had clear skin until mid-way through college when my hormones really threw my skin off balance and a few years of breakouts here and there continued. I never had severe acne that covered my entire face, but you would be surprised how many red marks can accumulate when you have even just a few pimples a week for a few years. I’ve tried pretty much every acne product out there — including antibiotics, prescription and over-the-counter topical creams — but alas, I’d always have a breakout (or four) to deal with on any given day.
In May, I pretty much said ‘enough is enough’ and decided to go all out to try to get rid of my acne once and for all. I cut out dairy completely, reduced my refined sugar intake as much as I could, doubled my water intake and stayed consistent with my skincare regimen. Then, I started using the PMD, or personal microderm. Basically what this device does is use a disc embedded with aluminum oxide crystals to slough off dead, dull cells from the surface of the skin. Then by removing the dead skin cell barrier, new cell growth is stimulated and you can show off your new healthier skin.
I noticed results after the first use — my skin felt softer and brighter. But after about a month is when I could really tell that my skin was transforming. In the video, I’ve included a ‘before’ photo, plus I wore no makeup in the video to show you what my skin looks like today after about two months of using the device. In this time, I was doing plenty of other things to help my skin get rid of the inflamed acne, but this is the product I really feel helped with getting rid of the acne scars and redness that the healed acne left behind.
