After an amazing Thanksgiving week spent in Hawaii, I’m finally back in New York City. Despite the chilly weather, I couldn’t be happier to be here right now because the holidays in the city are nothing short of magical. My parents have been in town the last four days and it’s been awesome showing them all of the holiday displays (Saks Fifth Avenue was killer) and winter villages. The Bryant Park winter village had an ice skating rink, gorgeous pop-up restaurants and food-truck-type food stands, and what seemed like a hundred tiny shops with everything you need to check all the gifts off your list. The holiday shops stay open until January 2 and the ice rink until March, so I highly recommend it if you’re coming to the city in the next month or so.
We also went to see Waitress which was ahh-mazing, especially the music. Out of all the broadway shows I’ve seen I think my top three are The Lion King, Wicked and Waitress. We also saw The Nutcracker performed by the New York City Ballet and it was so good. When I was a kid and danced ballet I played a candy cane in The Nutcracker, so it definitely brought back some memories, haha! But dancing was not my forté and these dancers were the best I’ve seen in my life, so it was night and day to say the least. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
