Last week I had the opportunity to check out John Hardy‘s new SoHo store at 118 Prince Street and learn how to weave their classic chain and design my own bamboo cuff from their artisans in residence themselves. At the workshop, we learned from three artisans who were experts in sketching, watercoloring, carving and chain weaving. And let me tell you, they made it look easy. When it came time to try my hand at the chain weaving I gave it a solid two minutes before I reverted back to the only thing I was good at — watercolor!
I’ve always been a big fan of John Hardy jewelry but I gained a whole new appreciation for the brand knowing that each chain is hand woven in Bali. When I wore my bracelets after the event, it just made them that much more special! The bracelets I’m wearing in these photos have beautiful pavé diamond clasps and are actually reversible so you can showcase either the silver and 18K gold side depending on your outfit (or mood!). Plus, I love that they can be worn with both daytime and evening looks.
If you’re located in New York City, stop by and see what’s in store at the new SoHo location — you can meet John Hardy Artisans, try the ancient practice of chain weaving and experience heritage by hand with complimentary hand-engraving on Classic Chain or Modern Chain piece from Dec 10 through 23. I’ve listed some of my favorite pieces down below!
Thank you to John Hardy for sponsoring this post.
