Happy Thursday! I got a couple requests about how to do this French Pull-Through Braid from Monday’s post so I thought I would post a quick photo tutorial. See the photos and details below. This morning I was up bright and early for a Miss Hawaii meet and greet with students at a local elementary school, and this afternoon I’ll be hitting up the grocery store to prepare healthy meals for the rest of the week. I started my healthy eating (I try to stay away from the word ‘diet’) and fitness plan on Monday and feel like meal prepping is the best way to stay on track and avoid temptation. While I have a few favorite healthy recipes, I feel like changing it up is the only way to keep it interesting. I’d love to hear all of your healthy recipes, let me know in the comments.
Step 1: First off, you’ll need a bunch of clear elastics, at least 10-12 for long hair. Start by parting your hair to your desired side. I choose to part mine on the right and my braid will travel diagonally down to my left shoulder. Take a section from above your ear diagonally up to your part line, leaving out bangs or some hair in front if you prefer, and secure with an elastic. Try to secure a little loose.
Step 2: Take a 2-inch piece of hair from underneath the pony tail and and pull it through the first section above the elastic.
Step 6: Now you can start pulling apart the braid to get a messier look. I like to pull the braid from the outside of the loops for a fuller and more pulled apart look. You can use texture powder, mousse, or dry shampoo to give it more volume and fullness.
