One of the things I struggle most with living in New York City is dressing for the unpredictable weather. I swear, until the time I went off to college in Southern California, I never checked the weather once in my life. In Hawaii I just woke up, knew it was going to be somewhere between 70 and 85 degrees, and kept a sweater and umbrella around just in case. It was 18 years of warm-weathered bliss! One trend I’m loving lately is layering dresses on top of t-shirts and sweaters. It extends the life of your summer dresses a couple months and just gives your outfit a fun, playful vibe. On this day I actually ended up taking the sweater underneath off because I got too hot, but it was perfect for the chilly morning time.
Right now I’m writing you from home in Hawaii because I came back to surprise my sister who just had my little niece last Saturday. Photo on my Instagram here! It’s so refreshing to see new life and watch our family grow and change. It’s also perfect timing because Holden and I are celebrating our four year anniversary and we’re going to celebrate with a beach day and date night. It’s a quick trip, but be sure to come back next week for more photos of my little vacay.
